However as stun values become far too difficult to drain in high difficulties in any meaningful way with any hope of getting to missions end so I would avoid stun builds there, because by the time you might trigger a stun, I tend to find the enemy is dead (health pools do get bulky but not an extra 12 points bulky imo vs. Some notes as well: Librarians can be useful Stun enablers along with Purifiers and Purgators who both can boost the AoE of grenades and for the Stun grenade, this can make tagging a bunched up group easier. ![]() Once got done with a stun train and found one of my knights with 7AP. Not always needed but stun can be a game changer against high armour and health enemies.Īs noted, once stunned an enemy is vulnerable at melee range and if struck by a melee attack (using a weapon, can't be a shove or have your melee disabled) you are assured a critical hit HOWEVER this one comes with an option to execute the enemy which gives all your knights (can't remember if it applies to additional characters, I know it doesn't work for the dreadnought) +1AP and this is powerful for the fact that AP isn't capped. Due to how things refresh after each pod (or patrol if you want to call them that) is dealt with, you can if you do it right go from mission start to mission end by chaining from pod to pod, and killing each pod by means of using stun-chains to feed AP to deal all the damage needed to clear each pod. However, if you are on the more standard difficulties stun trains are the number 1 way to 1 turn a mission technically. So in high difficulty, you want to put merit in getting damage squared away and just be open to the fact you will take hits. I would say in lower difficulties that stun is the go-to strat for clearing patrols but at the higher difficulties, it isn't really viable as they get to a point where you can't get the needed Stun-train off to make it worth while. ![]()
